2017 Hyundai Ioniq from Hyundai Dealers in Santa Fe: Three Hot Options Expected to Come Out Soon

There’s a new player in the hybrid market, and there will be three models to choose from once it hits the market. The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq will be coming out with three trim levels, two of which (the hybrid and the EV) are set to come out later this year, while another (the plug-in) won’t be till in the Spring of 2017.

It’s fresh, it’s hip, it’s new, and it’s got all the right reasons for you to be excited about it. Here are some basic details we have about it so far.

Electrifying Entry

Curiosities are already being piqued by the different trim levels. According to the Hyundai official release, the EV version will have a 188-hp electric motor, and about 155-mile range. If you’re using a fast charger, you can have an 80% battery charge in as fast as 24 minutes. The plug-in, meanwhile, is reported to get a gas engine coupled with a 60-hp electric motor.

Another great bit of news about the Ioniq is that both the hybrid and plug-in versions will be using the new Kappa 1.6-liter four-cylinder direct-injected engine. With this, you can get up to as much as 104 horsepower and 109lb-ft of torque.

As for the interior, both hybrid and plug-in also get console-mounted shifters. As for the electric version, you’ll be able to choose gears by pushing buttons. A central touchscreen is built into the dashboard and Hyundai says that it will have android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities.

There are plenty more details that we’re looking forward to hear about, but in the meantime, these are already exciting as it is. Keep on standby, though, and make sure to drop by Hyundai dealers serving Santa Fe for more updates.
