The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is ready to show you just how much better an already good thing can be. At the recent Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai unveiled the latest iteration of its popular crossover SUV, and it is looking good.
On the outside and in the front, the Santa Fe now dons a very pronounced rectangular grille. LED running lamps have also been put in place, as well as a sharper set of headlights.
Improved Safety
The current model’s safety rating is already impressive enough, but as it turns out, it could still have some improvements. For one, the Santa Fe has so far been given only moderate marks in the small overlap test, so it should come as no surprise that the designers have been working hard to finally score that Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.
So far, they seem to be on the right track, what with the incorporation of a bevy of new safety features, such as the lane departure warning, automatic high beam assist, pedestrian detection, and auto emergency braking.
Engine Power
Of course, the engine must remain at par with the quality standard we’ve gotten used to from the previous iterations. This time around, the 2017 Santa Fe offers front-or all-wheel drive, with a turbocharged 2.00-liter four-cylinder engine, and 240 horsepower. Upper trims like the three-row model is instead powered by the 3.3-liter Lambda II V6 engine, coupled with 290 horsepower. Six-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board.
There are certainly plenty more features to look forward to with the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe crossover SUV, so if you want to know more, make sure to drop by your nearest Santa Fe Hyundai dealership.
